VG Fieldtrip questions and 20 pictures

What is the most distinguishing feature in each place?
Inside Heavener Hall, I would say the most distinguishing feature was how new, modern, and high tech it was. When you enter the building you can tell its brand new and set up with all the latest equipment. The new-ness of it is its most distinguishing feature at this point in time.
In the ex-Bambooville, the most distinguishing feature to me was all of the foliage. It is basically a little forest with paths and there is just so much green that that is the feature that stands out the most to me.

What is the purpose or goal of each place?
The purpose of Heavener Hall is a place of learning and business, where students can study, socialize, eat at the cafe, and go to class.
The purpose of ex-bambooville and the little forest area is to preserve a place of wilderness where people can hang out in, walk through to get to campus, and possible explore.

What is the essential quality of each place?
The essential quality of Heavener is the business rooms and professional atmosphere, these qualities make it a business school/hall.
The essential quality of ex-bambooville are the nature paths and the nature itself, without those it wouldn't be a place you could explore or be surrounded by nature.

How do people react to each place?
As a group, we reacted to Heavener Hall with a kind of awe. We were in awe at how new, fancy, and high tech it was. We reacted by wanting to explore the whole place and enter each classroom and see what kinds of new things are in the building. The other people I saw in the building I think felt very comfortable there, there were people in the study hall and eating in the cafe. This made it a sort of comforting environment where you feel like you can go to hang out and study.
As a group, we reacted to ex-bambooville with a different kind of awe. We wanted to walk down all the paths and take pictures of all the beautiful nature and lighting. I think other people would react similarly, wanting to hang out and take in all the nature and light and leaves.

How do you compare the two places?
Both places have a lot of contrast. Heavener Hall is a fancy, new, and modern building full of life and people. Where as the ex-bambooville was empty of people and is an old preserve of a spot of land and nature. The one similarity they have is the sense of awe and wanting to explore they both invoke, at least for my group and I.

What is your definition of natural place and unnatural place?
Natural place: A place where one feels connected to and surrounded by nature. Such as the beach, a park, a nature trail, a forest, river, lake, etc.
Unnatural place: A place that is man made and where one doesn't feel connected to nature but rather disconnected from it.
