Field Trip Questions

What is the most distinguishing feature in each place?

Heavner:

The most distinguishing features about Heavner is that it has a very fancy presentation in the sense of its interior design along with with exterior design. Its established well designed classrooms and or lecture halls with furnished study rooms and small restaurant.

Ex-Bambooville:
This place was most distinguished through it vast and tall trees with multiple paved routes. This area also had many tables in random places but some became taken over by nature. Overall the place gives a feeling of abandonment.

What is the purpose or goal of each place?

Heavner:
The purpose of this location is to establish a academic setting specifically to all business majors. Utilized for its classrooms or studying areas for the students in this field of study and other students during specific hours of the day.

Ex-Bambooville:
This area’s purpose I would say is used for trail walks or to find a nature walk within the campus of university of florida. This is suggested by the randomly scattered tables around the area and the paved paths. I know this place was a hangout area as well but that is information that I have heard from other students.

What is the essential quality of each place?

Heavner
My knowledge of Heavner is little but I am aware that this area costs about 100 million dollars to construct for the University of Florida, so its safe to say that this is a prestigious location, especially for the business majors

Ex-Bambooville:
After reviewing online this place was actually a art installation created by Jon Anderson. This installation once had bird houses, decorations with bamboo and bird houses.

How do people react to each place?

Heavner:
When entering this area it is noted that you are shocked in awe by the fanciness of the area compared to other places on campus. I reacted in a sense why does business majors get this, thats unfair. I viewed it as a new study area

Ex-Bambooville:
I reacted to this place as that i never knew it existed. It was in the middle of nowhere and i was choked that their was something like this on campus grounds. I was surprised in how vast the nature was in that particular area.

How do you explain/compare/contrast 2 places in terms of physical and psychological quality?

When comparing both places, they are sites for people to relax or to gather and meet up. They differ in their population of visitors however, of course heavener receivers more people than Ex-bambooville. Of course the main difference is that one place is in inside and the other is outside.

What is your definition of “natural place” and “unnatural place”?

A natural place is a location that fits it ideal surroundings such as a library in a school settings a natural place is the exact opposite such as a zoo in a rollercoaster park.
