CMB Homework Response

After reading "In defense of the poor image", it has made me realize that although a high quality image is preferable in certain situations, it is not the only option to get the point across. Some artists and producers such as Woody Allen and Juan Garcia Espinosa use low quality images as part of their artistic expression. It helps them emphasize their point and it gives them an artistic edge to their pieces. It is something out of the norm since poor images are usually associated with lower income classes. Poor images have that connotation because of the pirated movie industry as well as that people from lower classes don't have the means of buying cameras or cellphones with higher resolutions. The pirated movie industry has become huge and those movies are obviously cheaper and have much lower quality due to the fact that they have been copied and put onto CD's millions of times. The people who buy these are the ones who cannot afford the $10-$12 movie theater ticket. Hito Steyrel gives both sides of the poor image by stating that it can be good or bad. It can be associated with artistic expression, or with lower class audiences.
