Which will work better in your design, a limited or wide range of hues?

A wide range of hues would work best in my design, because a variety of bright colors draws the audience's        attention, as well as make the design seem vibrant, fresh and appealing.

What happens when your composition is dominated by earth colors and chromatic grays? How does it change when an intense color is added?

Earth colors and chromatic grays are very neutral, which serve to make an image appear calm or still, and make the image more relaxing. Adding an intense color juxtaposes it to the plainer colors and really makes the brighter color stand out.

What are the differences in use of color in Andrew Wyeth's Wind from the Sea and Richard Diebenkorn's Interior with Book?

Wyeth's use of earthy, subdued colors make the piece appear more serene and calm, as well as give his image a photographic element. Diebenkorn, on the other hand, uses bright hues that contrast with one another, making the image appear more dynamic and stylized.
