Reading

Which is more appropriate for your idea: a flat design or a spatial design?
A one point spacial design would be more appropriate for my poster.
What happens when static (unmoving) and dynamic (moving) shapes are used together in a design?
This contrast in the objects allows the overall image to have an implied energy. The static object explains a still image while the dynamic object implies motion and energy that hasn't been completed.
Choose one artist in the reading who you feel was most successful in their use of motion and space and write your comments on him/her.
Rogier van der weyden"s Deposition is successful on achieving space through layering. With this method the figures do not use their size or proximity to to focal point. Motion is captured through the contrast and rhythm in repetition of the bodies' positions. Even though the image is primarily flat there is still a directional motion that is established in the painting through these methods.
