1. I'm going with a flat design because I want a more simple, graphic, and iconic look to my poster.
2. This combination lends itself to an overall sense of motion and action. It also makes the image more interesting because of the contrast between what is still and what appears to be moving.
3. I think Ann Strasman's 'Humphrey I' is very successful in its use of motion because of the contrast of the static background and the dynamic brushstrokes and position of the dog. The cropped composition as well as the brushstrokes really open up the space because of the forward motion of the dog.
