- Which is more appropriate for your idea: a flat design or a spatial design?
I believe a flat design will be better for my project, as I want to create a graphic, illustrative poster.
- What happens when static (unmoving) and dynamic (moving) shapes are used together in a design?
- Choose one artist in the reading who you feel was most successful in their use of motion and space and write your comments on him/her.
Mark Messernsmith's works, including but not limited to Edge of Town, all incorporate an extreme sense of motion/movement throughout the piece. The world seems to tilt with the animals and you move with the subjectmatter, all within a frame that has so little negative space left over, you find a new piece whenever you look at it.
